“Modular” refers to a method of construction, not a type of home. Bungalows, town homes, duplexes, two-story homes, and apartment complexes can all be built using modular components. Best of all modular construction leaves a smaller carbon footprint.

  • Modular Construction can be built for a temporary project and then converted for long-term use.

Temporary Building Projects can be relocated and converted - Seniors across British Columbia are now being provided with much needed affordable living accommodations thanks to an agreement between the Province and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to convert modular buildings for new uses at new locations. Over 320 temporary modular housing units from the Olympic and Paralympic Village at Whistler are currently being relocated and converted into 156 permanent, affordable apartments in six communities across the province.

  • The modular construction process offers many benefits, including improved quality control and reduced on-site waste generation.

EQuilibrium™ Housing InSight: ÉcoTerra™ Modular Construction
ÉcoTerra™ is a new, two-story detached home built in a wooded area in the Mont Orford area of Eastman, Québec. One of the innovative aspects of the ÉcoTerra™ project, which is highlighted in this EQuilibrium™ Housing InSight, is that the house was built in a factory before being assembled on-site.
