EQuilibrium™ Housing InSight: ÉcoTerra™ Modular Construction

ÉcoTerra™ is a new, two-storey, 234 m2 (2,519 sq. ft.) detached home in a wooded area in Eastman, in the Mont Orford area of Quebec. It is a winning project in the CMHC EQuilibrium™ Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative. Alouette Homes, a prefabricated home manufacturer, designed and constructed this home to be healthy and comfortable to live in, reduce energy use to a minimum, produce on-site renewable energy, conserve resources, have a low environmental impact and be marketable.  One of the innovative aspects of the ÉcoTerra™ project, which is highlighted in this EQuilibrium™ Housing InSight, is that the house was built in a factory before being assembled on-site.
